Alhambra Happenings:

We have remodeled the Children's Room at the Alhambra Police Department.  This was a great opportunity for us as the community to rally around a need in our City. The ribbon cutting, blessing and dedication was Thursday, July 10th at 1pm. Click here for more info and pictures

Opportunities to get involved:

Citizen's Police Academy at Alhambra Police Department begins September 3, 2008. This is a comprehensize sharing of knowledge about the Alhambra Police Department by veteran police officers and staff, that is offered to city residents and businesspersons who want to expand their knowledge about the Alhambra PD. This is offered during an 11 week series of Wednesday evening sessions. The academy includes: lectures, discussions, demonstrations, role-playing exercises and a ride-along with an officer on a regular patrol shift. Stop by the Alhambra PD, 211 S. First Street,  to ask for an application form. For questions, please call the Crime Prevention Division at 626/570-5177.

 

Night out against crime - making Alhambra safer. National Night Out, the organization that intiated the Night out against crime program is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In an effort to make the program more effective community wide, it will be held in multiple locations in town on Tuesday, August 5th. First appearance will be at Target, then Renaissance Plaza at Garfield and Main and end at the Marketplace Shopping Center on the southeast corner of Valey and Almansor. They will be at each location for about an hour. Police officers and crime prevention staff will meet and greet, providing residents an opprotunity to better know our public safety staff, who will share info with the public on how to better ensure their personal safety and the safety of their proprty. Look for the blue Ford van that says COPS and the mobile command vehicle. Join in the effort to minimize crime in our community. For more info call Sgt. Prayer events: 

Prayer Walking the City....Join other followers of Jesus in praying for our city monthly. Meet at Sunrise Christian Community every 4th Thursday of the month from 7:30-9pm to prayer walk the downtown core of Alhambra, praying for God's love and hope to reign on our city streets.

 

City to City: Ignite, Unite and Praise Night July 19th  from 6-10pm. Location: CEFC, 1111 S. Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park. Admission is FREE. City to City is a youth-run organization dedicated to the unity and growth of local Christian youth groups through the hosting of praise nights in the San Gabriel Valley, ultimately bringing forth a movement of change for the glory of God and setting all hearts on fire or Him.
