We rally people at the local level around causes. For each identified local are of concern we seek to provide information, opportunities for involvement and a strategic task force in order to develop and implement tangible solutions.

The mission of the Youth Education Task Force of Kingdom Causes Long Beach is to systematically work in partnership with LBUSD to have each local school "adopted" by local churches in their neighborhoods.
Currently we are working on the following:
1) A plan for churches to adopt their local school 2) 2008 Backpack drive 3) Supporting existing mentoring efforts in the City

Opportunities for Involvement
We would like to see the Church of the City partnering with LBUSD, to support the LBUSD's mission for "personal and intellectual success of every student, every day".
In our involvement through the Long Beach Kingdom Causes' Youth Education Task Force and pilot projects, relationships of trust and integrity have been developed with LBUSD. Service opportunities are made available by the LBUSD for local churches to be involved in their adopted school. We see the church as a main stakeholder in the city that has a pool of caring and motivated volunteers. As the Church of the City works together to help LBUSD succeed in their mission, we will also succeed.

2008 Annual Backpack Drive

It’s time for the 2008 Backpack Drive to benefit 10 Long Beach Unified middle schools! In conjunction with Long Beach Unified, Long Beach Rescue Mission and Kingdom Causes will be working to assemble 3,200 backpacks to help students have a positive start for a successful year!
We need the help of local churches! This event will be successful when we all work together, and there is a way for everyone to be involved!
#1- Partner with the drive financially. We need to cover supplies, backpacks, and administrative costs. $15 will provide for one backpack, $150 for 10 backpacks, $300 for 20, and so on. Please consider giving financially to support this ministry. Checks should be made out to Long Beach Rescue Mission and designated for the backpack drive, and can be mailed to:Kingdom Causesmemo: "Backpacks"PO Box 90243Long Beach, CA 90809 #2- Donate any combination or amount of backpacks and supplies. Mentorship
“Middle School Mentoring Moments” through LBUSD 500 mentors are needed to meet with students to help students feel connected to and successful in school
And there are many other ways to adopt a school!
