Kingdom Causes

The vision of Kingdom Causes is to see God's Kingdom saturate every sector of our city.  In Torrance, the education department is the largest entity in the city.  Therefore, it is obvious to us that unting believers in education is a key componant to seeing community-wide transformation.

TORRANCE EDUCATION NETWORK
With the help of Mike Ernst, Torrance Board of Education, Kingdom Causes Torrance has started an Education Network.  Our vision is to unite this often hidden part of the Church of Torrance.  Three things are on our heart regarding this group of influencers.
1.  UNITY - We hope to unite this group of believers through various types of city-wide functions.  Unity is on the heart of Jesus.  He prayed for all believers to come to complete unity in John 17:23 and we believe our effort is on the heart of God.
2.  ENCOURAGE & INSPIRE - As we gather together for city-wide functions, we hope to encourage people to see that they are not alone.  In fact, we believe there are more believers working in the Torrance School System than all of us suspect.  There is strength in numbers and we believe as they realize they are not alone that God will inspire their faith to dream big dreams of what the Lord wants for our city.
3.  STRENGTHEN - As we unite and encourage one another we will be strengthened.  To support the group, we hope to develop city-wide communication and prayer as well as build upon the relationships being established.  One of Kingdom Causes values is relationships and a significant part or our calling is to strengthen relationships.  Events come and go but relationships last.  The strength of this body of believers will depend on the strength of the frienships and partnerships that develop.

SCHOOL ADOPTION

Another part of our vison is to see every school in Torrance adopted by at least one church.  When we use the word adopt we mean that a local church has made a committment to care for the student and staff at the school of their choosing.  There is no formality to the adoption, just a committment by the congregation with the Lord to be proactive in caring for the people at their school.  So far three congregations have adopted schools.

1.  Coast Christian Fellowship
Pastor Guy Takashima -adopted South High.
2.  Greater First Christian Church
Pastor Michael Starks - adopted West High .
3.  Hope Chapel Gateway
Pastor Dean Mayeda - adopted West High.

We have over 30 schools in Torrance.  Will you join us?
